Eligibility & Admission Procedure:
Admissions are made as per the directive of the State Government issued from year to year. As of now, 90% of the seats are filled up through Central Counselling from the candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, or any equivalent examination of recognized Board or University and qualified in the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board and as recommended by the Central Selection Committee (E&T). Remaining 10% seats are filled up also through Central Counselling from the candidates of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). There is a provision of 10% of WBJEE sets to be filled up through Management Quota.
Diploma holders in Engineering/Technology and B.Sc. Degree holders are as well eligible for admission into the third semester (2nd year) of B.Tech courses on qualifying an Entrance Test so designed for the purpose by the WBJEE Board and subsequent Counseling by CSC (E&T) on supernumerary basis, as per AICTE notification.
Fee Structure:
B.Tech students selected for admission shall have to pay the tuition and other fees as decided by the fee structure committee of the Government of West Bengal. Present fee structure is as follows:

B.Tech students shall have to pay Rs.36,000 for 2nd semester.
B.Tech students shall have to pay Rs.37,000 for 3rd & 4th semester.
B.Tech students shall have to pay Rs.38,000 for 5th & 6th semester.
B.Tech students shall have to pay Rs.39,000 for 7th & 8th semester.
Hostel Fee(Optional) : Seat Rent 3,500 per month
*Tution fees for candidates admitted under Management Quota would be decided by the management as per guidelines of the State Government.
* Any other fees imposed by the WBUT or the State Govt. will be payable extra, as applicable.
* Payment has to be made by Demand Draft/ Banker's Cheque/ Pay Order, drawn in favour of "Heritage Institute of Technology" , payable at Kolkata within specified date to be notified by the Institute.
* First year students seeking admission for the session 2012-2013 are required to pay Rs. 25,700/- [Rs. 65,700.00 – Rs. 40,000.00 for general and SC/ST category OR Rs. 29,700.00 – Rs. 4,000 for TFW] at the time of admission.
* Documents required to be submitted at the time of admission to B.Tech. courses:
o Original Provisional Admission Letter incorporating therein the details of Demand Draft against token money deposited at Reporting Centre issued by WBJEE Board, along with an additional photocopy (An extra copy of this letter should be retained by the candidate for future use)
o Attested copy of Caste Certificate (Compulsory for SC / ST candidates) & Attested copy of Income Certificate for students admitted under TFW category
o Photocopy (xerox) of WBJEE/AIEEE – 2012 Admit Card & along with the Rank Card
o Attested copy of Madhyamik admit card or certificate for age proof
o Attested copy of 10th or equivalent mark sheet
o Attested copy of 12th or equivalent mark sheet
o Medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner
o Eye certificate regarding no colour blindness from a registered eye specialist
o Photocopy (xerox) of Blood Group Certificate
o 4 (Four) stamp size colour photographs
o Affidavit (format attached) to be made by the students and their guardians
